Joe Meyer received a BS in civil engineering from Bradley University.  He spent several years performing geotechnical site investigations and construction inspections for engineering firms in Georgia and Missouri.  Joe completed his MEd at the University of Missouri as part of the NSF sponsored Science and Math Academy for Recruitment and Retention of Teachers program.  He taught science and math in high school for two years in central Illinois before beginning his PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Joe’s aspirations include teaching and researching at the university level, and working as an advocate for the increased implementation of effective engineering curriculum at the secondary level.
