Michael Nehring

Michael Nehring received a BS in technology education and an MS in industrial / technology education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  He spent seven years teaching high school at Highland Park Senior High in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In addition to developing a number of new courses, Michael created the Technology and Science Small Learning Community as part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant for restructuring high schools into small learning communities.  As a classroom teacher, he was selected to participate in the NCETE curriculum development project at UW-Stout.  Michael was also selected to be an NCETE graduate assistant while earning his master’s degree.  Michael was the head track and field coach at Highland Park; winning two conference championships.  He has completed the research for his doctoral dissertation and is writing the final draft. He has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Technology at SUNY Oswego for academic year 2009-10.
